Ayurvedic Health Practitioner Training

The New World Health Ayurvedic Health Practitioner is:

  • An Educator

Our students learn education skills. They develop online courses and in-person presentation skills. They also develop ways of teaching Ayurveda in one-on-one consultations that best serve the client.

  • A Coach

Our students learn coaching skills. They can become dual-trained in both Ayurveda and Health Coaching through adding the Consciousness-based Health Coaching training to the Ayurvedic Practitioner training. They also learn coaching skills through our practice building curriculum. In the process, they learn to coach clients through a six-month wellness journey.

  • A Clinician

Our student learn clinical skills. They become adept at assessing imbalances through pulse, tongue, facial, skin and other diagnostic modalities. They become skilled at thinking clinically and making recommendations through our case-based approach where the principles of Ayurveda are taught by working through real cases.

We teach all three from the very beginning of our program and we do so in the context of Consciousness-based Health.

Curriculum

As an Ayurvedic school founded by a Western Medical Physician, we offer a modern and comprehensive approach to the course by including a medical perspective, Vedic astrology and spiritual counseling. Over the course of 10 months, you’ll learn how to empower yourself, friends, family, and your community to heal from the inside out, utilizing Ayurveda’s secrets to optimal health and longevity.

The program consists of two 12-week terms, one 8-week term, three 5-day intensives, and one practicum. A minimum of 50 Clinical Client Cases are part of the training reflecting our case-based, clinical approach to learning Ayurveda.

For me, the biggest strength of the NWA program was the use of case studies to see 'real world' examples of Ayurvedic treatment. I felt that model of learning really anchored my assessment skills and gave me the information to create plans that generate the greatest impact on my clients' health and well being.
